Moodle, a feasibility study

Hello everyone, this is Michael Fisher (formally from Brewster High School). I am taking a wri 227 technical report writing class here at OIT. I am looking for any help in finding some material on Moodle, relating to what resources are necessary for a successful site.

Here is my research question I currently have:
What are the necessary resources an integration and maintenance of a Moodle website needs. What kind of staff ( technological, teaching or other wise) gives a virtual learning environment like Moodle the best support. What are the computer hardware and software requirements that meet the needs of a Moodle website. What kind of courses for teaching students are needed? What training for teachers should take place?

Any information you could send me, or point me to would be greatly appreciated. I am also looking for any persons who might be able to help me.

Word->XML Template for Quiz Questions

This little gem has the potential to save TONS of time converting your quiz questions. You'll need to be a bit techie, but if you can use styles in Microsoft Word (and yes, I think it needs to be bona fide Microsoft Word since it uses VBScript) and export/import XML, you're probably there.

This was originally from http://finemetronome.com/moodle/ which was a link I found on the http://docs.moodle.org/en/Moodle_XML_format page. I did some tweaking and hence version 0.91.

Still needs support for images and question weighting, so if anyone wants to tackle those and share, that would be great! Derry

What is the best & cheapest Moodle host out there for teachers who's admins won't allow Moodle on their servers? (sad I know). If it only has a nice Microsoft emblem next to it they would be all over themselves to install it
